Given the accelerating convergence of AI and neuroscience, how do you foresee balancing the immense scientific potential of LNMs with the ethical challenges they raise, especially in terms of privacy and the idea of 'downloading' human consciousness? Could this convergence also inspire new ethical frameworks for both AI and neuroscience as they evolve?

From my point of view the development of LNMs presents significant ethical challenges, including ensuring informed consent for the use of brain and behavioral data, as individuals may not fully grasp the implications of having their consciousness replicated. Questions of identity and agency arise, as well as concerns over who controls these digital versions and how they reflect the person’s true self. Additionally, brain data could be vulnerable to hacking or misuse, leading to exploitation or manipulation of human decisions, posing risks to autonomy and free will. Finally, the commercialization of neural data may have profound implications for mental health and privacy.
